A message of support from our Royal Patron the Duke of York

EXERCISE TRANSGLOBE is an incredible opportunity for more than 500 sailors, soldiers and airmen, Regulars, Reserves and Cadets, to test themselves in the most extreme of environments. Robust adventurous training such as this is essential in preparing our Armed Forces for operations worldwide, and all involved will find themselves tested in ways they would not have thought possible on ocean-going legs of four to six weeks. This exercise will also provide an opportunity for members of the Armed Forces who have been injured on operations to reintegrate themselves back into Service life in a way that will be forever memorable.

As Patron I am delighted to wish all participants, supporters and sponsors the very best in their endeavours, whether they are engaged in one leg or all thirteen over its one year duration. I sincerely hope that EXERCISE TRANSGLOBE achieves all is sets out to, be that pushing the boundaries and developing the personal qualities of all taking part, or the raising of much needed funds in support of Help for Heroes.
